The Big Aha stories
- Why Dorothy's slippers are red: In L. Frank Bawm's book, Dorothy's magic shoes are silver. The nineteen thirty-nine film made them ruby red, to show off its bright Technicolor. In twenty twenty-four, one pair sold at auction for over thirty-two million dollars. Sources: wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruby_slippers
- The shark that kept breaking: The Jaws crew nicknamed their mechanical shark Bruce, after Spielberg's lawyer. Salt water kept breaking it, so it barely worked during filming. So Spielberg showed the shark less, and let the music build the fear. Jaws became a giant hit, often called the first summer blockbuster. Sources: wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaws_(film)
